Vincent Hedont, Akustiker

Erziehung   Vincent Hedont was born in France in 1980. After passing his Baccalauréat in science with majors in mathematics and music, he entered the University of Science and Technologies in Lille and graduated in 2001. Vincent then joined the engineering school École supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Poitiers in civil engineering and specialised in building related physics: Acoustics, Lighting and Heating.
In the academic year 2004-2005, Vincent undertook further studies at the IRCAM institute in Paris (Institut de Recherche & Coordination d'Acoustique/Musique) where he completed IRCAM's multidisciplinary MSc program. This program, known in French as DEA ATIAM, consisted of intensive pre-doctoral courses in acoustics and signal processing applicable to music, and included a 5-months research project which was carried out in industrial laboratories for psychoacoustics.
In 2004 and 2005, Vincent completed applied and theoretical studies in psychoacoustics both for research teams at Ecole d'Architecture de Bordeaux and industrial design teams such as Peugeot cars laboratories. In 2003, Vincent did an internship at Marshall Day Acoustics in Melbourne where he took part in developing a room acoustics investigation procedure using specific equipment.

Musikalische Erfahrung   Vincent studied solfège and clarinet from the age of seven. From the age of eleven he started playing clarinet intensively in orchestras and as a soloist. He completed academic musical studies at eighteen and kept on rehearsing and practicing in various bands and orchestras including the National Conservatory of Poitiers until 2004. He is now involved in several projects, playing either clarinet or saxophone. Vincent's technical sound experience includes sound recording and mixing or technical assistance for music events, especially for Marciac Jazz Festival, in France.

Berufliche Erfahrung   Vincent joined Kahle Acoustics in January 2009 to focus on room acoustics design. He is now in charge of the completion of the future Auditorium in Bordeaux and of the future concert hall in Marciac, France.
From 2006 to 2008, Vincent was consultant for the acoustic engineering consultancy companies AVEL Acoustique and Cabinet Lamoureux, in France. He participated as junior acoustic consultant in many projects related to building acoustics, including vibration assessment. He was involved in acoustics design for cultural buildings, offices and schools. The main projects included the theatrical rehearsal rooms of La Comédie-Française Theater in Paris, the National Conservatory of Music in Mont Saint-Aignan, the cinema studios in La Plaine St-Denis, the skyscraper AVA in La Défense (Paris) and the 4 stars hotel Crown Plaza in Montpellier, in France, and the extension of the European Court of Justice in Luxemburg.
